I am an enthusiastic reader of esoterism, and it’s not unusual, for someone passionate about esoterism, to end up getting interested in tarot and cartomancy in general. I have been thinking for a while about creating my own tarot deck, but its deep symbolism has always held me back, and in a certain sense, intimidated me. So, I tried to start with something simpler, from an iconographic point of view.
The Petit Lenormand deck is a deck of 36 cards, and although in its current configuration it is a divination deck, it actually derives from an exclusively ludic deck, titled the 'Game of Hope'. This consisted of a sort of hybrid between a boardgame and a cardgame, with dice to progress and cards that predicted different effects, kinda like a game of goose, where obviously bets were placed and money was lost or won.
The deck I have allowed myself to propose, named 'Petit Lenormand', directly derives from this game. However, unlike the 'Game of Hope', it is a deck of cards designed exclusively for divinatory purposes. The symbols on the cards have their own precise meaning, which is more precisely defined by pairing the cards two by two. The responses from the readings are generally more concrete and practical compared to that given by the tarot; the symbolism is more direct and less ambiguous.
But I don’t want to elaborate too much, so I leave you with my version of the 'Petit Lenormand'. The cards are in high resolution and without a watermark, as are ALL my works, which are freely downloadable and printable. I have also created a back for the cards where I have allowed myself to include my 'logo' with the lizard that is always with me in this visual journey, trying to exploit and uncover the secrets of Midjourney, enjoy.
